2017 Treasury Session 2 Schedule! Wait for you!

Treasury Salon second session was a great success last week. Four panelists (Peter Ha, Winter Wang, Claire Han, Katja Cheng) shared their deep insight and valuable knowledge about Treasury department. The topic covered detailed explanation of organization structure in Treasury department and the coordination and support between various functions. At the same time, the topic went through the crucial position and differences of treasury management both in banks and cooperation.

The last two sessions of treasury salon will focus on detailed introduction about the functions in treasury department, as well as requirements for different functions. Next session is around the corner, we have three experienced panelists coming to join us and share their own experience and understanding of treasury department.

During the Q&A section, treasury salon candidates proposed in-depth questions and discussed with panelists. It is also worth mentioning that several treasury salon candidates were applying or interviewing for the related position in major financial institutions and the salon offered precious treasury knowledge to help our candidate strive in the financial market.

Treasury Salon II– Cash Mgmt, Balance Sheet Mgmt, Modeling

The treasury salon second session will concentrate on the cash management group, balance sheet management group, and treasury modelling group and deeply describe the daily responsibilities and necessary skills. It is our goal to help candidates gain more understanding in treasury department and we look forward to meeting you tomorrow.

Balance Sheet Mgmt Strategy & Ops

at BMO Corporate Treasury.

He has 10+ years of treasury experience and is currently responsible for implementing interest rate and FX strategies to manage BMO’s structural balance sheet to the target market risk profile.  Peter holds a Bachelor of Math and a Master of Accounting from the University of Waterloo and is also a Chartered Professional Accountant and a CFA ® charterholder.

Halsy Wang,

Senior Manager

RBC Enterprise Model Risk Management (Model Vetting)

His role is to validate the models submitted by the Treasury department of the bank and also is going to be expanded by covering models from Finance department such as hedge accounting in the near future. Halsy holds a Master of Science in Financial Mathematics from McMaster and Bachelor of Math in Actuarial Science and Statistics from Waterloo.

Cassie Li

Senior Treasury Analyst

 American Bank of Canada

Her role is responsible for day-to-day cash management to ensure the daily liquidity needs are met and the appropriate level of liquidity is maintained to support bank’s short-term and long term financial requirements. Cassie has adequate experience both in Bank Treasury and Corporate Treasury. She holds a MBA Finance from Brock University.
