The Positively Intelligent Leader by Timothy Fong

The Positively Intelligent Leader by Timothy Fong

This October 13, NHC Distinguished Speaker Series (DSS) presents a very special session – a workshop on the topic “The Positively Intelligent Leader”, which is different from the other DSS sessions which focus on technical knowledge and skills. In one’s career, leadership and other soft skills are equally important to hard skills. It’s never too early in one’s career path to start thinking about developing and improving leadership ability.

This workshop will help you understand the importance of positive intelligence and its role in effective leadership. In the 2.5-hour session, you will learn how to apply Positive Quotient (PQ) to improve your well-being and leadership effectiveness, how to improve your ability to influence and motivate others, and how to become more resilient and more fulfilled.

The workshop will be very interesting, engaging and interactive: there will be introduction section, group exercises, case studies, a break and networking session. Take a sneak peek of part of the agenda:

  • TF’s 4 Stages of Life Model
  • Observations on Cultural Differences
  • Case Studies and Applications of PQ
  • LQ and its Application
  • Ideas for New Year’s Resolution

We are honoured to have Mr. Timothy Fong, Managing Director at OSFI as our speaker. Mr. Timothy Fong had a Master’s degree in Mathematical Finance from the University of Toronto and a certificate in Financial Asset Management and Engineering from the University of Lausanne. He is currently the Canadian representative on the Basel Committee of Banking Supervision’s Trading Book Groups and also an instructor at the University of Toronto’s School of Continuing Studies responsible for financial trading and risk management courses.  He was a recipient of the school’s “Excellence in Teaching Award” in 2008 and a recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for significant contribution to Canada through personal and professional achievements in 2013.
