The session started with our speaker Sean who prepared a professional presentation of resume and interview skills, then he shared his own experiences of working for one of the big five banks, the peers benefited a lot from his speech. Peter also shared his 10 year experiences of working as a banker. After his presentation, all the panelists, facilitators, and students had the chance talking to the others in pairs and introducing his/her partner to the class. The first class ended with joy and the memories of fun stories for everybody.

The second class was held on Feb 20, the facilitators who participated in previous sessions shared the whole class their own stories about how they successfully find the jobs, which tremendously helped the students to learn resume editing skills and the professional answer to respond the interview questions.

One week after, on Feb 27, our honored guests Alex Zhu – branch manager of TD, Donson – financial planner of RBC, Chad – financial planner of RBC and Derek – mortgage advisor of CIBC who joined our mock interview session. During the class, the students exercised interview skills by answering the questions from instructors. There were three rounds for each student, self-introduction, regular interview questions, and scenario practice. After each round, the advisors commented about their rooms for improvement. After the session, the students have learned a lot in terms of the interview questions.

On March 6, during the last session, we had the second mock interview, the students performed confidently after the three practice procedures, the tutors were so glad to see their progress. At the end of the session, the students had the opportunity to ask questions about existing opportunities and technical skills in the financial service industry. After four lectures, all of the tutors, facilitators, and students got to know each other and establishing friendships. NHC wants to send the regards to our panelists and volunteers for their valuable time and efforts, also we appreciate that everyone joining us on the NHC sessions, and we are sincerely looking forward to seeing you again in future events.
